Summary, etc. | Abstract: Cutaneous Anaplastic Large T cell lymphoma is a rare type of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma which accounts for about 2% of all non-hodgkin's lymphomas. Patients are typically young with peak of incidence at the sixth decade and preponderance on the male gender. This is a case of JDC, 56 years old, male, who initially presented with 3 months history of a well-defined, erythematous, ellipsoid-shaped plaque at the left antero-lateral axilla, which gradually enlarged with associated scaling of the lesion. He was initially treated as a case of eczema, given topical medications but afforded no relief. He was referred to a derma-surgeon where an incision biopsy was done and revealed non-hodgkin's lymphoma versus myeloid sarcoma. They sought consult to another surgeon and slide review reported the same findings. Patient was referred to a Medical-Oncologist where Pet CT Scan was done. Excision Biopsy and immunologic studies were done and results showed primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma. The patient underwent radiation therapy and had just finished 20 cycles of RT. No new lesion was noted and patient is for repeat Pet CT Scan to ensure the remission of the tumor. Primary cutaneous large cell lymphomas have a variable clinical presentation and may mimic other skin lesions therefore it should always be a consideration in skin lesions unresponsive to topical treatments like steroid. |
