Abstract: After a considerable time, pollution has become a larger problem that humans must solve to survive and maintain the Earth. Several solutions arise to prevent the continuous growth of pollution around the world. One of these approaches is Zero Waste Management which prevents people from generating more waste and promotes recycling. This study aims to determine and examine the levels of knowledge and application of senior high school and college students regarding the Zero Waste Management concept in their households and give students awareness about the benefits and importance of managing their wastes and taking care of the environment. This study focused on the household setting because of the Coronavirus pandemic that emerged when this study was conducted. This enabled the researchers to discover more about the waste management techniques done in different households using the Mixed-Method Descriptive Approach. A test questionnaire and interview were formulated to gather the needed data from the senior high school and college students. The data collected showed that most senior high school and college students have basic knowledge regarding Household Zero Waste Management and practice it sometimes. The researchers have found out that knowledge is the main factor that influenced students to practice Household Zero Waste Management, although most of them are confused about Household Zero Waste Management and have misconceptions about it. They are still willing to practice it, considering the factors that will lead them to do it. |
