Summary, etc. Abstract: Considering the use of social media continues t develop in today's world, these exposures may have a variety of consequences and influences on an adolescent's behavior and self-image. This study focuses to determine how cognitive dissonance influences the self-image of Senior High School students when they are exposed to social media. It employs a sequential explanatory research strategy that predominantly employs quantitative and qualitative research methods. A descriptive study design is used in the quantitative section to identify individuals that belongs to the Bonder group and assessing if they experience cognitive dissonance over their social media use. A phenomenological research approach is used in the qualitative section to obtain responses through a semi-structured interview to assess their opinion on their self-image on social media and how does cognitive dissonance affect their self-image, and their strategies to resolve conflict. It was discovered that the majority of participants experienced cognitive dissonance as a result of their exposure to social media, which had a negative influence on the students' self-image that was resolved that was through limiting social media exposure and social media detox.
