Summary, etc. ABSTRACT:

Objective:This study aims to determine if vascularity of a thyroid nodules will enhance the diagnostic performance in Stratifying Thyroid Malignancy Risk Assessment Design:Cross sectional, analytic Settings: Far Eastern University- Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation School of Medicine Participants:Adult patients who underwent thyroid ultrasound and thyroid Fine needle aspirationbiopsy (FNAB) at Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation

Results: One hundred seven patients were included in the study with most of the respondentsaged from 50-59 and 60 and above. These age ranges compo 28.0% and 25.2% each of the total population from the year 2019 to 2021. In regards to gender, were female, being almost 85.1% of the total population. This assumed female are more at risk for having thyroid nodules and lesions. For the results of the FNAB, There was a total of 7 different methods done to the patients, and among those methods the Thyroid Mass (cytology) has been the most common method used from the total of Thyroid-related patients during 2019 to 2021. By TI-RADS scoring, most of them scored 4 which was interpreted as “with ultrasound features suspicious of malignancy”. While 21 of the patients scored 5 which stands for nodules highly suggestive of malignancy (Dy et al., 2017). For the frequency between benign and malignant, mostly benign having 68 among 107 patients. On the other hand, 39 among those patients’ result were found to be Malignant

Conclusion:As per what the researchers has been found, most of the patients who underwent for Thyroid Malignancy Risk Assessment age from 50-59 and the elderly aging 60 and above, aside from that patients were mostly female. This finding is similar to the claim of Hong et al. (2022) that Palpable thyroid nodules occur in about 6% of women and 2% of men with higher
iodine-deficient areas. Different methods for risk assessment their condition and location of the nodules or in FEU-NRMF was
prevalence in the elderly and in were done to different patients depending on lesion. Due to pandemic time the number of patients who underwent FNAB decreased significantly and it affects the number of the target population, moreover due to the limitation of the study it is recommended to further specify the category in the result of biopsy since some of the tissue are only for cytology or histopathology.
