A survey on physical activity among first to third year medical students in FEU-NRMF revealed to 73 percent are not engaging in regular physical fitness activity. Those who were not engaged in regular physical fitness attributed this to lack of time. Because of the present situation, the group decided to implement an action plan that aims to increase the proportion of FEU-NRMF medical students (1st to 3rd year) who have regular physical activity from 27% to 50%. This was achieved by: 1.) providing medical students means of increasing physical activity which can be incorporated into their daily activities as students; 2.) providing medical students means of exercise which require less time and resources. The group utilized three strategies, such as, videos, bookmarks, and posters to achieve the said objectives. The action program was evaluated by survey with the use of questionnaires. Based on the survey, the proportion of FEU-NRMF Medical Students with regular physical fitness activity has increased from 27% to 70% after the from 27% to 70% in the proportion of medical group’s intervention. The increase students who are physically active is greater than the 50% goal set by the group a. the start of the program. |
