Summary, etc. Abstract: A Case of a 15 year old, female with history of fever, constipation, black tarry stools, anemia malaise, easy fatigability and headache is presented. Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) French American British (FAB) M3 classification was confirmed by bone marrow biopsy. The myelogenous leukemia are heterogenous group of disease characterized by infiltration of the blood, bone marrow and other tissues by neoplastic cells of the hematopoietic system. AML accounts for 11% of the cases of childhood leukemia in the USA, with approximately 370 children diagnosed with AML annually. In the Philippines, it ranks 5th among the killer diseases. Despite all ongoing efforts to improve treatment and supportive care, childhood AML still remains a challenging disease. The current 5-year survival rate approaches 50% with the use of intensive-timing chemotherapy (CCG 2891).
