| Summary, etc. | ABSTRACT: A 19 year old male, smoker was admited to our hospital because of sudden onset of chest pain characterized as heaviness over the substernal area, non radiating, tolerable, lasting for approximately 30 minutes. He is smoker and alcoholic beverage drinker, no history of drug abuse however he has family history of hypertension and diabetes mellitus. On Physical examination, the patient had cold clammy extremities and diaphoresis. The heart has a dynamic precordium, apex beat at the 5th ICS LMCL, normal rate, regular rhythm, distinct S1, S2, no S3 gallops, no murmur. In order to confirm our diagnosis, routine tests like ECG and measurements of cardiac enzymes were done and showed ST segment elevation in V2-V6 and positive troponin. T, increased level of ckmb and total ck respectively. We report a case of Acute Myocardial Infarction which is common among elderly and rare among the young hence its is important to rule out Acute Myocardial Infarction even among young patients who present with chest pain particularly if the patient has risk factors. |
