Summary, etc. ABSTRACT: Medulloblastoma is a relatively common malignant brain tumor of children and relatively rare in adulthood. It is a primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) that arises in the cerebellum. Posterior fossa tumors present with similar signs and symptoms. Several diagnostic modalities such as Computed Tomography scan and Magnetic Resonance Imaging, contrast enhanced may be used identify the lesion. In addition, MR spectroscopy can be used to differentiate a benign from a malignant tumor. This is a case of a 32 year old male, who complained ofon and off headache for two (2) months, dizziness and syncopal attack which prompted the patient to seek consult and was eventually admitted to a private medical center in Quezon City. Imaging modalities such as CT Scan, MRI and MR-Spectroscopy were done and revealed a neoplastic posterior fossa mass lesion. Immunohistochemical staining revealed a high percentage to Ki67 and positive results to Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protien (GFAP). Synaptophysin and B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl 2). The imaging results, histopathology and immunohistochemical staining supports the diagnosis of medulloblastoma which is very rare in adults. Localization and characterization of mass lesion can be done using the different imaging modalities. However, tissue biopsy is still recommended to establish the definite diagnosis.
