ABSTRACT: Very early mobilization (VEM) is considered to contribute to the beneficial effects of stroke units. However, further researches are necessary to be able to quantity the improvement in neurological status after initiating early mobiluization. It was proposed that an early mobilization after stroke will shorten the days spent admitted to the hospital, thus decreasing the financial burden of hospitalization versus improve outcome and hasten recovery post stroke. We compared the effect of early mobilization versus delayed mobilization in the functionality outcome of acute CVA infarct patients using the scoring system based on Modified Ranking Scale (MRS) and Barthels Index (BI). Also we compared the incidence of immobility related complications of CVA infact between early and delayed mobilization during their hospitalization including deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, bedsores, pneumonia, UTI and falls. Primary outcome are MRS score and measures of dependency using Barthel`s index. Secondary Outcomes will be the incidence of immobility related complications during their hospitalization including deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, bedsores, pneumonia, UTI and falls. |
