Summary, etc. ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study is to assess the quality of nursing care rendered to service ward patients in selected tertiary hospitals in Quezon City. Specifically, the study sought answers to the following questions, first, what is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender, civil status, religion, educational attainment, length of stay in the hospital. Next is which among the factors, as perceived by the patients, does the nurse exhibit excellence in duty based on the holistic factors (Physical, Social, Emotional Intellectual, Spiritual, Occupational, Environmental) Another was which among the factors should be the prime concern of improvement for nurses in terms of the holistic factors. Lastly what are the significant differences on the assessment of nurses made by the three groups of respondents. For the hypothesis, the study in anchored on the hypothesis that the service ward patients in selected tertiary hospitals in Quezon City are well taken care of the staff nurses in terms of the seven holistic factors of wellness. The respondents considered in this study were the service ward patients confined in FEU-NRMF Medical Center, casual General Hospital and Novaliches General Hospital during the period of February 22-27, 2008. A total of 53 people were taken as respondents. The quota sampling was used, because a non-random selection of respondents from the cross-selection of a population was considered.
