Summary, etc. ABSTRACT: Nursing Schools are somewhat confronted with many challenges nowadays. In order to face the difficulties arising due to the increasing number of students, low ratio of teachers per student group and shortage of supplies used in teaching nursing procedures, the researchers thought of making a study on the effectiveness of multi-sensorial aids as a tool in teaching nursing procedures to imply skill enhancement. It is very important for every nursing student to be equipped not with just knowledge but also with skills. The researchers strongly believe that quality education with the use of multi-sensorial aids can help in making teaching-learning process more effective. The researchers of this study attempted too investigate only one avenue of possible attack-that of improving teacher effectiveness through the provision of more better locally prepared instructional materials and the resulting improvement in teaching methods and utilization procedures. This study aims to enhance the realism of the medical situation, to increase learning interest and also to help maintain consistency and quality of teaching. First year nursing students and first year clinical instructors of FEU-NRMF are utilized to serve as the respondents. Using the Sloven`s formula, one hundred eighty nine (189) student-respondents were chosen out of four hundred thirty five (435), which is the total number of first year nursing students plus twenty-one (21) teacher-respondents. Descriptive method was used in the study. The researchers prepared a 5-item questionnaire as a survey tool for the clinical instructors while a 4-item questionnaire was made for the student-respondents, which served as the research instrument. The questionnaire was patterned to the Lickert`s Scale model with additional multiple-choice type of questions. Majority of the respondents agreed that multi-sensorial aids are effective in teaching nursing procedures. Through this result, the researchers would like to recommend the necessity of new multi-sensorial aids and complete facilities to enhance a good quality teaching and improve skills of nursing students.
