Summary, etc. ABSTRACT: As future members of the medical health team, there is a need for nursing students to acquire basic knowledge and skills on CPR. In this way, they will know to handle emergency situation and apply their learned skills to render service to the people and the community, and also to save life. The 3X1 action group thought of conducting a seminar on CPR for nursing students. A pre-evaluation test was done to the seminar to assess the degree of knowledge and skills of the participants. A post-test was also conducted after the seminar to assess whether the seminar is effective and if it enhanced the participants` skill and knowledge of CPR. Based on statistical analysis of data collected, improvement of both knowledge and skills in CPR was noted among the 16 nursing students who participated on the seminar. Mean score during the pre-test was 29.125. After the seminar, the mean score of participants was 72.625. Thus, showing more than 75% improvement in knowledge. In addition, the skills of the participants were also evaluated. Mean post-test scores was 42.1875 before the seminar and it improved after the activity with a mean score of 82.1875. Thus, showing more than 75% improvement in skills. Paired t-test of the pre-test and post-test scores in knowledge on CPR of 16 nursing students is statistically significant. The observed t-score of 22.1453 falls beyond the confidence interval a.05. This result indicates that knowledge in CPR of the subject, improved after they participated in the CPR seminar. In addition, paired t-test of pre-test and post-tests scores in skills on CPR of participants is also statistically significant period.The observed t-score of 10.4710 falls beyond the confidence interval of a.o5. This results indicates that skills in CPR of the subjects improves after the said activity.
