Summary, etc. Abstract: Chlamydospore is the most important in the diagnosis and identification of the human fungal pathogen Candida albicans. The standard medium used in the cultivation of Candida albicans is the corn meal agar and the addition of tween 80 stimulates the abundant growth of chlamydospore. The purpose of this study is the development of new medium that has the same component with the corn meal agar, the field corn and corn flakes. This study was done by culturing Candida albicans using field corn and corn flakes based agar with tween 80. This study aims to discover whether the field corn based agar and corn flakes agar has the capability in dermonstrating the chlamydospore of Candida albicans. The method of data collection applied in the study is observation primarily on the chlamydospore production of microorganisms. Primary data was gathered which includes the presence or absence of chlamydospore of Candida species. Result showed that corn flakes based media and field corn based media allowed the growth of colonies of candida albicans but did not allowed the growth of colonies of Candida albicans but did not allow the growth of chlamydoscopore due to insufficient nutritious constituents like carbon, nitrogen and vitamins such as vitamin A and vitamin B6. Furthermore, some contents of corn flakes and field corn like glucose contributed to the inability of the agar based medica with corn based media can sustain the growth of Candida albicans but not their chlamydospores.
