Summary: ABSTRACT: The incidence of urinary tract lithaisis is continuously increasing especially in tropical countries such as the Philippines. Non-enhanced CT scan remains the imaging modality of choice for evaluation of urinary tract calculi. However, the disadvantages are its high ionizing radiation, high cost and lack of availability in some healthcare communities. Sonographic twinkling artifact seems a promising diagnostic tool for urinary tract calculi. The intension of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of sonographic twinkling artifact in correlation to unenhanced CT scan.
