Abstract: An action program was done among first year and second year FEU-NRMF medical students during the first semester school year 1992-1993. Basic knowledge about Coronary Artery Disease was common among these students but still majority of them do not apply this knowledge in their day to day life. CFM students III-F of FEU-NRMF Institute of Medicine School Year 1992-1993. Symposium was attended by these students and poster making activity were done with the purpose of elucidating the relationship of modifiable risk factors such as hypertension, hyperclolesterolemia, obesity and smoking with the occurrence of coronary artery disease. Recent program have shown that with the proper orientation and education about the risk factors may produce a significant decrease on the incidence of CAD among young individuals through early detection and avoidance. Awareness was assessed using the questionnaire method. A baseline of 51% awareness was increased to about 82% after a post evaluation of all activities included in the action program. The action program was a effective tool used to increase the students' level of awareness.
