Summary: Abstract: There is an increase in mortality and morbidity rate due to antibacterial resistance which lead to the discovery of new alternative antibacterial agents. This study is conducted to assess the antibacterial property of the stems of Lantana camara Linn and t compare the significant difference between the commercial antibacterial drug against gram-negative bacteria, Klebsiella pneumonia. Ethanol was used as a solvent to extract the constituent/s of Lantana camara Linn using Maceration Method. Rotary evaporator under vacuum at 60°C was used to produced concentrated crude extract. The crude extract of Lantana camara Linn was subjected to phytochemical analysis and the antibacterial activity of the evaluated using Kirby Baver Disk Diffusion Method. The plant extract was prepared with four different concentrations, 1g/mL, 0.5g/mL, 0.25g/mL and 0.125g/mL. All concentrations displayed no antibacterial activities as compared to the commercial antibacterial drug.
