ABSTRACT: This is a case of a 26 year old, female, who had recurrent pneumonia since childhood. As a child, she was repeatedly treated with different anti-microbials, which would not completely resolve her symptoms. She transferred to our institution after a month long history of productive cough and difficulty of breathing. Chest ultrasound revealed pulmonary sequestration vs. cystic adenomatoid malformation type 3. Chest Computed Tomography (CT) scan revealed infected intralobar pulmonary sequestration. She was put on medications for bacterial pneumonia and pulmonary tuberculosis and underwent Left Posterolateral thoracotomy with lobectomy of extra lobe. There was subsequent re-expansion of the Left lung and patient was discharged improved.
