ABSTRACT: The Purpose of the study is to evaluate the food contents that the students can get from the foods available in the JCR Building Canteen in terms of street foods, instant foods, breakfast/rice meals and snacks. The research also assessed the nutritional value of the food sold in the JCR Building Canteen in terms of calories and nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins and fats/lipids). A descriptive-research design was used in this study using 97 SHS as respondents. The findings showed tahtmost of the respondents get the required nutritional value needed by the body when it comes to the carbohydrates and fats/lipids from the food sold in JCR building canteen but as for the required nutritional value needed by the body, in terms of calorie and protein the said foods were not enough to supply the body's needed calories and proteins. In general, the assessment shows that there were less students who buy foods from the JCR Building Canteen and the nutritional value of the foods sold in the canteen is not enough to meet the overall required nutritional value for the students. This study signifies that by combining or adding more varieties of foods sold in JCR canteen the required nutritional value for the students could be also achieved.Through these findings, an infographic, a leaflet and a meal plan are proposed to give additional information to an existing knowledge and to serve as their guide with respect to the needed nutritional value. The leaflet gives a brief information about the essence of taking too much or too less nutrition in the body. While the Infographic provides information to appreciate and to give importance in choosing the right food. Lastly, the meal plan serves as guide for certain combinations of foods that are available in the JCR Building Canteen.
