Summary: ABSTRACT: Diabetes mellitus is the sixth leading cause of death in the Philippines; over six million Filipinos were diagnosed to have diabetes. Health literacy is a factor related to adherence in diabetes mellitus treatment but contradicting results were concluded in several studies between health literacy and treatment adherence of diabetic patients. The goal of this study was to determine the relationship of the client's level of functional health literacy of treatment adherence.
