Summary: Abstract: This is a systematic review of laboratory errors and its corresponding resolutions from research studies, journals and articles. the researchers aimed to determine the common laboratory errors, its corresponding resolutions, and its effects on the overall patient care. It was conducted from January 2021 to January 2022 (research proposal to research final presentation). It only covered research studies, articles and journals in the Philippines for the past 20 years ( January 1, 2001 to December 31, 2021). Based on the studies, the most common pre-analytical errors included hemolyzed samples and patient misidentification errors. Analytical errors were mostly due to pipetting techniques, improper timing, inappropriate use of reagents, ect. Lastly, post-analytical problems were mostly due to delay in releasing results. Different laboratory programs were introduced and most of the foreign sources suggested automation to mitigate these errors. On the other hand, local sources recommended stringent policies, support for post-graduate studies to the medical laboratory scientists, and continuous proficiency testing for laboratories.
