Abstract: Online clinical practice education may provide a variety of advantages, including better access to references and communication with instructors. However, because students are not physically present at school to obtain appropriate assistance, online education is still insufficient. The objective of this research was to determine the effectiveness of the GCDL Model in enhancing the examination performance of FEU-NRMF for the school year, 2021-2022 of RICO Medical Technology students. This study was a quasi-experimental research conducted among 84 fourth-year medical laboratory science students of FEU-NRMF, batch RICO 2022. Respondents were chosen systematically and separated into two groups: experimental (n=24) and control (n=42). An exam questionnaire was used to evaluate the examination performance of students before and after application of Garrison's Model of Self-Directed Learning. In addition, a 5-point Likert scale survey questionnaire of Ordaz and Reyes (2014) "Academic Self-concept scale" was adapted and utilized in this study to evaluate the model's benefit and for the purpose of appropriateness. Further, analysis of the data made use of the paired t-test. The findings of the experimental group's examination, in Hematology, showed that the mean values on the post-test 19.0 are significantly higher than the pre-test mean values 15.7. The results of the investigation of the control group, both Immunology and Serology and Blood Bank, showed that the pre-test mean values of 17.0 and 17.2 were grater than the post-test mean values of 13.1 and 14.3. In a post-test comparison of the experimental and control groups in their subject blood bank, the experimental group had a mean value of 16.9 while the group had a mean value of 14.3. Ordaz and Reyes' average rating of 3.62 on the Academic Self-Concept Scale demonstrates that the participants used Garrison's Model in their examination performance. Self-directed learning aided in the improvement of classroom achievement, in particular the examination performance of students. Using Garrison's Model of Self-Directed Learning to examine RICO 2022 Medical Laboratory Science students had a negligible influence on their exam performance. Nonetheless, the use of this modality has the potential to impact other subjects as well.
