Summary: Abstract: In this paper, we assessed the awareness of 3rd year medical students of FEU-NRMF regarding the universal health coverage law, its benefits and coverage, as it is an integral part of the country's health system in the near future. The significance of the study lies on the basic fact that awareness is an integral part of knowledge. By being aware of the current law and its rules and provisions, the students would be able to help in the transition from the current health system to universal health coverage, and to ensure service preparedness for the new healthcare system. This study followed a basic descriptive cross-sectional study design to assess the awareness of FEU-NRMF medical students on the Universal Health Coverage Law. By using probability cluster sampling method, we have recruited a total of 138 respondents who are 3rd year medicine students of FEU-NRMF, enrolled for the 2nd semester of academic year 2018-2019. The data collected includes the participant's sex, age, section, pre-med course and awareness the participants has regarding the Universal Health Coverage Law and these were obtained through a three-item survey questionnaire from that lasted for approximately 10 minutes. Data was encoded and analyzed in Microsoft Excel. Out of the 138 responses, majority were aware of the UHC Law, having 109 or 80%, while 29 students (20%) claimed that they are unaware of it. With the recent passage of the UHC, not everyone is aware of the current law. It is important that everyone must be aware of the law, its salient features and benefits in order to know their rights and privileges as a citizen. Based on our study, majority, though not all 3rd year medical students are aware about the UHC Law, which was grained primarily through lecture discussion in class.
