Summary: Abstract: According to Washington State Department of Local and Industries, 40% of Washington State Fund worker's compensation are among office workers that have Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSD's). It means that the employee may take longer time to be able to return to work, resulting in loss of salary and increase in medical bills. Application of ergonomic principles is most effective in preventing the development of an injury that can lead to decrease in worker's compensation claims. This is an observational study design that assessed the workspace of clerical employees in FEU-NRMF. Schools of Physical Therapy office, Nursing Office, Respiratory Office, Medical Technology Office, Radiology Technology office, Pharmacy Office, Medicine Office and Nutrition and Dietetics office were chosen conveniently. OSHA e-tool, Purchasing Guide was used to assessed the workspace of clerical employees. In this study, 64% of the respondents in the school of Medical Technology have abide by the OSHA tool on the different equipment used in the office; for the School of Physical Therapy, only 48% have followed the OSHA tool; for the School of Respiratory Therapy, 51% have followed the OSHA tool in this office. Only 49% of the respondents in the School of Radiologic Technology have followed the OSHA tool. About 53% have followed the OSHA a tool in all the equipment used for the School of Nutrition and Pharmacy. About 56% of the respondents in the School of Nursing have followed the OSHA tool and almost 53% in the School of Medicine followed the OSHA tool in the structure of equipment used in the office. The researchers concluded that most of the items in OSHA tool were adhere by the clerical offices at FEU-NRMF.
