Although clinical signs have remained the same, radiologic methods of diagnosis have greatly improved. Antibiotic therapy has also improved, but the principal advance in the management of hepatic abscess has been the applicaiton of percutaneous aspiration of laparoscopic techniques for diagnosis or treatment. The aim of this study is to report a documented case of a patient with Hepatic abscess successfully treated by laparoscopic drainage and to present the pros and cons of this approach in comparison with other modalities in treating pyognetic liver.
