Summary: Abstract: Acute appendicitis is a common surgical condition and the diagnosis made primarily on the basis of history and physical findings, with additional assistance from laboratory examinations. Although most patients with acute appendicitis can easily be diagnosed, for many of them the signs and symptoms are variable and a firm diagnosis can be difficult. This is particularly true when appendix is retroccal or the retroileal position. Ultrasound or other imaging modalities are being requested. This study aims to determine the reliability finding in our institution in diagnosing appendicitis and avoid unnecessary and expensive imaging modalities. Likewise to support surgeons in doing necessary appendectomy with positive ultrasound findings.
