Summary: Abstract: To determine the accuracy of the Multiple Parameter Scoring System in predicting fetal maturity. The study was conducted at a university-based hospital. It is a prospective cross-sectional study where all participants underwent ultrasonography using the Multiple Parameter Scoring System upon admission at the labor room. Findings were confirmed with the Final Ballard Score. There were 117 participants, majority at term pregnancy. The Multiple Parameter Scoring System has a sensitivity of 100% (95% Cl 96.48 to 99.92%), specificity of 85% (95% Cl 56.34 to 97.42%), positive predictive value of 98% and the negative predictive value of 100%. Likelihood ratios for a term fetus increased the post-test probability of more than 6 fold, giving it moderate accuracy. (95% Cl 2.49 to 24.82). The Multiple Parameter Scoring System is a useful diagnostic tool for predicting fetal maturity. It in moderately accurate but must be used with an understanding of its limitations.
