Dissertation note: MEDICINE Research project Summary: Dengue is the most common mosquito-borne flavivirus infection in human, transmitted by the bite of an infected mosquito. A. Aegypti mosquitos are the predominant vectors. Dengue infection may be asymptomatic, result in a nonspecific febrile illness. A small percentage of persons with dengue infection develop syndrome termed dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome. More cases of dengue infection in pregnancy can be found due to the increasing incidence during adulthood. It should be suspected when a pregnant woman presents symptoms and signs like in a non-pregnant. Conservative treatment should be conducted unless there are any complications.
