Summary: Abstract: "Medical school provides perhaps the best substantiation for Charles Darwin`s theory of natural selection.. For here we see in its cruelest form the survival of the fittest. Not the smartest, as one should expect. But the fittest to cope with the inhuman pressures, the demands made not only by the brain but on the psyche...." Medical students are often caught in stressful situations, with all the major exams, deadline to meet, and to present. They are not just physically stressed-out, but also emotionally and psychological burdened. Somehow they were able to figure-out different self-help steps to deal with stress. Different coping strategies like watching movies, getting enough, bonding with friends and spending quiet time the Lord. There`s no single right way of coping with a given situation. Each of us must figure out what works best for us. What works best will depend, in part on your coping style. Coping is not process that comes easy or natural to anyone. It requires conscientious, determined effort to learn about specific ways of coping with diverse stresses long before the troubles arrive, openness to many solutions, careful observation of many people with coping experiences, effectiveness of effort to handle stressful situation. Coping with stress requires effort over time and involves the same self-help steps as any other problem.
