Summary: ABSTRACT: Early and accurate diagnosis of rupture of membranes would allow for gestational age specific intervention intended to optimize perinatal outcome and minimize serious complications. However, a false-positive diagnosis of rupture of membranes may lead to unnecessary obstertric intervention. Because accurate dianosis is vital to render the optimal management for the patient, attention should be paid to confirming the diagnosis.
