Summary: ABSTRACT: There are various skills involved in nursing that should be practiced and should be improved before handling the patients. A nurse must have the knowledge of the procedure that will be done to the patients. He must also possess very good communication skill in order for him to explain clearly the procedure to the patient. He must be equipped with a nice attitude and a care giving skills towards his patients. These skills are learned and practiced as the individual take up the nursing profession. These skills should be carried out by a nurse, whether he or she is a male or female, at all times when dealing with different patients. The researchers aim to know the effectiveness of the male androgyny nurses in terms of communication and care giving skills. The researchers chose these two skills because they believed that these two are important when dealing with the patients. The researchers also want to know if there is any difference between the performance of the highly masculine nurses and male androgyny nurses. Thus, the comparison that the researchers will do is not intended to discriminate one group over the other. The comparison will only serve as the guide for the researchers to assess the effectiveness of male androgyny nurses.
