Summary: ABSTRACT: Today, many people rely in our advance medical technologies in able to survive their recent illnesses and injuries. Blood is the most common product that are being used in hospitals to initiate blood transfusion in patients to save their lives. Since most of commercial blood banks are already closed, problems on the supply on blood continue. The demand is more than the supply. Lacking of Blood donors is one of the major problems that the health government faces today. Prior to this problem, this study aims to determine the awareness of second year nursing students of the FEU-NRMF regarding blood donation, theirr perception about it, what encourages and hinders them to donate. The donor could get from donating blood interms of physiological and psychological standards of qualified blood donor and their rights and the possible strategies that can help blood related institution to gain more donors. In this study, second year nursing students of FEU-NRMF are utilized to serve as the respondents. Through random sampling, 165 students are chosen to represent the 30% of the entire population. Descriptive method was used in this study. An 84-item questionnaire was utilized by the researchers as a survey tool, which serves as the study`s main data gathering instrument. The questionnaire was devised and adopted the Lickert`s Scale model in providing categorial description. Majority of the respondents are moderately aware on the issues presented based on the gathered data. Through this result, the researcher would like to recommend that the PNRC should organize more effective campaigns through TV commercials, colorful posters and brochures. It is also better if the health workers would give more attention on their health teachings to correct any misconception from blood donors. In giving non-monetary incentives, teachers could also give grade incentives for their humanitarian efforts and it could also be a way of promotion to attract more donors.
