Summary: ABSTRACT: With the increasing number of nursing schools in our country, proliferation of newly graduates occurs accordingly. Since they just freshly graduated from their respective nursing schools, school bred values are still intact. These newly graduates who will eventually become employed in an institution may experience role transformation problems from being a student to a qualified nurse practitioner. In our study, we included professional-bureaucratic conflict in which values and practices inculcated at nursing school contradict the acceptable attitudes in the work scene specifically in the hospital setting. As these problems manifest the nurses at the beginning of their career, we would like the problem to increase its salience since it may cause serious problems that may occur to the neophyte nurse or it may leave a dent to the quality of health care system. The study aims to present as well as assess the role transformation problems that are experienced by newly employed nurses. The respondents comprises of newly employed staff nurses within two years after post qualification.
