ABSTRACT: Students are one of the main groups that consume coffee on a regular basis because of the effects it gives to the body. Most of the coffee drinking takes place during the night when they want to keep them stay awake for late night study sessions. Coffee is a mild stimulant of the central nervous system and as a result can influence human behavior. This includes effects on aspects of mood such as alertness, mental performance and sleep. However, some researchers state that there have been studies that say there are long term effects that are not helpful at all. There is a lot of disagreement regarding this topic thus this study is conducted to find out the effect caffeine consumption on college students` study habits during night time.
