Abstract: CFM Section III-E Action Group of FEU-NRMF Institute of Medicine conducted a comprehensive information campaign to recruit voluntary blood donors from the parishioners of Good Shepherd Parish, West Fairview Quezon City. The group collected statistics and data from FEU-NRMF Medical Center Blood Bank and realized that there was an increase in the demand for blood compared to the supply of available blood at the Blood Bank. A Blood Drive, sponsored by Kentucky Fried Chicken, was coordinated with the FEU-Medical Center Blood Bank and the Good Shepherd Parish for September 10, 2000. Information, manuals, and pamphlets were obtained from the Department of Health and Philippine National Red Cross. In addition, posters and flyers were created announcing the event. The pamphlets were distributed at Good Shepherd Parish and announcements were made as well after each morning and afternoon mass two weeks before the actual event. The Blood Drive Information Campaign was successful in recruiting 42 out of 62 potential voluntary blood donors compared to 20 voluntary donors per month without an information campaign, which shows an 48% increase in the voluntary donors.
