Summary: Abstract: The study sought to inquire on the knowledge, attitudes and practices of thirty five Filipino mothers, 15-35 years old with children 0-24 months old, in Barangay 464 Zone 46, Sampaloc Manila. A pre-tested survey questionnaire was administered consequently by the researchers to mothers who were grouped into breastfeeding, bottle feeding and mixed feeding. Statistical analyses revealed a significant difference between the attitudes of the 3 groups while no significant difference was found between the knowledge and practices of these groups. Findings also revealed a greater incidence of breastfeeding an increasing practice of mixed feeding, a relationship between unemployment and breastfeeding, the importance of the self in the decision to breastfeed, and the influence of mass media channels.
