Summary: Abstract: Over the years CFM IV has been engaged in various programs aimed at identifying problems and formulating strategies in alleviating and improving a situation in a particular community. Drug abuse posts as one of the major problem now faced by our society that pulls us to look into this matter with such urgency thus needing utmost attention. This has raised enthusiasm among two previous batches of Junior Interns to come up with an information campaign against drug abuse among residents of Dagat-Dagatan, Metro Manila. Such endeavor was taken in the same area, Phase II, Areas 1, 3, and 4 with a different target population utilized but with universal intention of increasing the knowledge of each respective target population by 23% regarding drug abuse. We, the October-November 1993 batch of Junior Interns are tasked to follow up the target population by utilizing the strategies of the previous batches and also incorporating other strategies to decrease the prevalence of drug abuse which was well identified from previous studies. Strategies utilized in succeeding were information dissemination campaign against drug abuse by making use of different forms of media, print and public creation of alternative social activities like "Alay Lakad" and sports fest; and establishment of an organization against drug abuse, i,e., self-sufficient in doing preventive measure regarding drug abuse by providing a walk-in center that would be accessible in long-standing raising trust, compliance and confidence among the target population.
