Summary: Abstract: A descriptive study was conducted on 115 second year FEU-NRMF medical students to determine the existing level of Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP) about TB among them. Data was collected using a pre-tested self-administered questionnaire checklist. Scores were given to determine which category of the level of KAP did the respondents belong to. Single item analysis was done (i,e. proportions for each item per questionnaire statement), as well as proportions, mean values and standard deviations for the various categories of KAP. Results showed that there were gaps and weak areas among the sophomores regarding causation, reservoir, way of destroying the TB agent, mode of transmission, high risk age group, risk factors, prevention, fear of being an outcast in society, being ashamed of having TB, and measures to prevent the spread of disease. The sophomores had a moderately high level of knowledge, an attitudes borderlining on fairly favorable and fairly unfavorable, and had fairly favorable practices. It is recommended that this status of KAP be improved further because of the identified gaps and weak areas, though the outcome of the survey is quite satisfactory.
