Summary: Abstract: A pre-test evaluation of the Balik Pag-asa TB Program (BPP) revealed the need to increase the efficiency of the program`s delivery of services. The Junior Interns intended to implement an action program that would increase the program`s efficiency by increasing the BPP Volunteers` and Health Workers` capability of delivering services, increasing the patients` knowledge on the programs` guidelines, rules and regulations and increasing the patients` compliance and participation in the BPP. Strategies and activities included increasing the number of volunteers, formation of BPP committees, seminar of Bpp Volunteers, redefinition of guidelines, rules and regulations, workshop for Bpp patients, reopening of BPP TB Information Center, mounting of TB posters, and distribution of BPP therapy cards. The post-test evaluation results showed excellent results since the objectives were attained and the BPP volunteers and patients cooperated in the implementation of the action program. However, this does not mean that this action program has come to an end. The Junior Interns envision long term benefits with the creation of the more efficient BPP. in the form of decreasing the number of drop-outs and increasing the number of graduates resulting to a less prevalence of tuberculosis. It is thus recommended that the next rotating Junior Interns of the Department of Community and Family Medicine pursue the continuity and expound on what could be further done on this action program.
