Summary: ABSTRACT: Nursing the sick is highly stressful what more if is aggravated by other factors like changing social/personal life events, fear of work failure or ongoing personal conflicts with co-workers. Some stress motivation nurses, but exess stress leads to failure and unhappiness. Recognizing that stress just as it, is a normal part of living. It is impossible to eradicate it but it can be managed especially when the signs are recognized early. The purpose of this study is to determine the perception of FEU-NRMF MC nurse stress and to determine the effectiveness of a short-term stress management program. The questionnaire was adapted from a similar study by Perez and Perez (1999). The study which surveyed all 136 of FEU-NRMF MC nurses, with a 65% response rate, showed that about half (53%) are not in life crisis. This can be explained by the fact that tha medical center is still relatively new (about a year ). The transfer of facilities from the old hospital created a new environment which somewhat took off the boredom and routine. Added to this is the employ of additional work force. Still significant is the 20% who are in moderate life crisis, 17% with mild and the 10% in major life crisis. It also demonstrated the effectiveness of utilizing stress relaxation techniques provided by a stress intervention program
