Summary: ABSTRACT: This investigational study dealt mainly on the extract of arecoline and the confirmation of arecoline alkaloid in the Areca catech linn. Motility test was done to ensure the anthelmintic activity of arecoline hydrobromide. The alkaloid content was extracted using the reflux method and was subsequently treated with chloroform. Confirmation of alkaloid from the crude extract was further subjected to steam distillation and treated with hydrobromic acid to form the arecoline hydrobromide, Infrared absorption was employed to confirm the presence of arecoline through interpretation and evaluation of the different absorption peaks. Ascaris lumbricoides, the parasite, was treated directly using two drops of the arecoline hydrobromidee confirm its anthelmintic activity.,
