Summary: ABSTRACT: This study aims to determine the effect of ethanolic extracts of Pachyrrhizus erosus (sinkamas) on white mice using clothing time and bleeding as quantitative parameters. Thirty white mice - 15 males and 15 females, of same age, were acclimatized for 3 days. Baseline was obtained and oral administration of 95% ethanolic extract of the said plant was subsequently followed by the experimental result determination. A computed statistical T-test, having a 0.05 alpha as the level of significance and a critical value of > 2.145 were used. Results of the clothing time on male mice showed 2.34 and bleeding time, 2.95, while the clothing and bleeding time among those of the female mice were shown to be 1.25 and 2.21 respectively. T values were also noted and recorded. The results obtained signify that the clothing and bleeding time shortened in both male and female mice. However, there was no sufficient evidence in the effect of the extract on the clotting time of female mice.
