ABSTRACT: This is a descriptive study of sputum AFB Positive in-patients with Culture and Sensitivity initially diagnosed with PTB 3 in Quezon Institute from January 1999 - December 2001. The aim of this study is to determine the resistence to the four anti-mycobacterial drugs in different age groups and in different genders. Data was collected from records of 150 randomly selected patients in Quezon Institute. Results showed that among the four anti-myvobacterial drugs, Rifampicin showed the most frequency of occurrence of resistence. Both males and females showed a significant increase in resistance to Rifampicin and least resistance to Streptomycin. Among age groups, there is a significant increae in resistance to Rifampicin at age 25-34. Based on the two-tailed chi square test, between males and females there is no significant difference with regards to their resistance to Rifampicin. Among age groups, there is no significant difference with regards to their resistance to Rifampicin.
