Summary: Abstract: The study aims to compare the wound healing effects of Banana leaf extract ointment, Silver sulfadiazine, and Banana leaf decoction before( 1st day) and after ( 14th day) treatment on burn-induced rabbits. The research evaluate the healing properties as to Acute and Chronic inflammatory cell reaction, Epithelialization, and Neovascularization as parameters. Two biopsies were done to evaluate these histologic markers. The first biopsy was done after 24 hours of burn wound induction without receiving any treatment yet. The second biopsy was done after 14 days of treatment. Specimens are submitted for histopathologic analysis. Slides were read by a pathologist, graded and recorded. The results were computed using paired t-test(one-tail). And the calculated results demonstrate that none of the groups show significant difference on Acute and Chronic Inflammatory cell reaction, and Groups A and D equally showed significant difference on epithelialization before and after treatment. Only Group D showed a significant difference on neovascularization compared before and after treatment. Group D is the only group observed to be most effective in wound healing significantly promoting 2 parameters, epithelialization and neovascularization after 14 days of treatment.
