ABSTRACT: This study aims to determine the potentiating effect of the decoction of Moringa oleifera leaves on the sedative activity of Diazepam on male Sprague Dawley rats. Fifteen rats were divided into three groups of five. The first groups of rats were given the standard drug, Diazepam; the second group was administered with the decoction of M. oleifera aqueous solution. The aqueous extract of M. oleifera leaves exert a potentiating effect on Diazepan when they were administered. The researchers conclude that the aqueous extract potentiates Diazepan, and as such, should be further investigated to prevent health risks with other drugs.
