A RESEARCH ON THE EFFECTIVITY OF BRANDED MEDICINE AND GENERIC MEDICINE

ABSTRACT: The researchers decided to conduct a study on the effectivity of generic medicine and branded medicine to show and give clarifications on the misconceptions about the biological composition to individuals unaware of its differences. A review on different official studies comparing the effectivity of both medicines was made to gain valid information and a survey-questionnaire was used by the researchers to gain data supporting the information from different studies. The survey was disseminated to fifty (50) respondents residing in capitol park homes ii, novaliches, quezon city. The respondents were limited to thirty five years old and above. Furthermore, the researchers found out that generic medicine and branded medicine are nearly parallel in terms of its biological components. From the research conducted, the disadvantages and advantages of generic and branded medicine were found. The advantages of using generic medicine is that it is cheaper and it is readily available. Generic medicine, however, is not entirely safe to use. On the other hand, branded medicines are very safe to use, but they costs more than generic medicine. This study is worth reading and essential to everyone as it answers and gives rational perceptions on the effectivity of generic medicine and branded medicine.
