ABSTRACT: The purpose of the study was to assess the determinants of adherence to anthihypertensive medications in a hospital in Fairview, Quezon City, Philippines. The participants answered the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale 8 (MMAS-8) and an interview questionnaire about related factors that determine adherence to medication. From a total of 1778 participants, 44 were adherent to antihypertensive medication with adherence rate of 24.72%. Among the related factors, patients related factors showed that it was only forgetfulness as the significant predictor of good adherence to antihypertensive medications.
