Summary: Abstract: Since the Philippines is an archipelago divided by hills and water, seeking healthcare services can be a very laborious task for people living in rural areas due to several factors. In rural areas, water shortage is rampant causing the healthcare services to become low in quality (World Health Organization, 2019). Besides, according to the study of Arsdale (n.d.), the rural areas in the country have difficulty in acuiring medical equipment since out of seventeen (17) regions in the Philippines, only four (4) have hospital beds per 1,000 patients which is a basic standard. For this reason, the research is focused on assessing Candelaria District Hospital's health care services by using surveys, content analysis, and interviews by merely looking through the patient's/guardian's reviews and perceptions. The calculated mean scores would determine the agreement of the patients/ guardians based on the standards of a quality hospital set in the Administrative Order No. 2012-0012. Through the said procedures, the researchers found that the strengthens of Candelaria District Hospital based on the patients/guardian are their juality healthcare workers, cost-efficient services, and effective medical treatment. Their weaknesses based on the patients/guardians are the insufficient medical equipment, inadequate supplies, lack of nurses, and sometimes ill-mannered staff. Furthermore, the patients are generally satisfied with the healthcare services offered by Candelaria District Hospital. Out of all the standards, personnel competencyand professionalism was most regarded by patients/guardians of the hospital. Meanwhile, the availability of medical equipment and instruments was least regarded y patients/guardians which means it needs further improvements.
