Abstract: Soil-transmitted Helminthiasis (SYH) is one of the leading causes of parasitic infections in developing countries and poses a great public threat, especially to children who are physically active and tend to play outdoors, like in public playgrounds. The purpose of the study is to determine the presence of geohelminths in public playgrounds in Fairview, Quezon City. Soil samples were collected from playgrounds as these areas have warm and moist climates with poor sanitation, making them an ideal breeding ground for geohelminth infection. Soil samples were collected from five playgrounds in Fairview, Quezon City between October 17, 2022 to October 28, 2022. 10 soil samples collected during 1st and 2nd visit to the playgrounds were examined microscopically using Eukitt mounting media and the Sedimentation Method for the detection of geohelminth eggs. Geohelminths were not detected on the five public playgrounds in Fairview, Quezon City, Philippines. The study shows the absence of geohelminth in Fairview, Quezon City, and it was concluded that the following playgrounds are parasite-free and safe for the community.
