Summary: ABSTRACT: The thesis study is entitled "Efficacy of Central Nervous System Stimulants on the Academic Performance of Far Eastern University-Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation Second Year Nursing Students of School Year 2008-2009: An Assessment". The study would entail 184 male and female respondents. The main goal of the study is to identify the effectiveness of Central Nervous System Stimulants in relation to the academic performance of its users. The foremost key point objective for figuring out the main goal of the study is to determine if there if there is a significant relationship between the beneficial and detrimental effects of consuming CNS Stimulants unto the academic performance of its users. In addition to the main goal stated, the study also aims for other objectives that would also contribute in terms of knowing the effectiveness of CNS Stimulants consumption on the academic performance of its users. In particular, the study include the intentions of identifying the most common kinds of CNS Stimulant used as well as the rate and occurrence of stimulant intake among users. Knowing the reasons or causes along with the academic situations/instances that trigger CNS Stimulant consumption among its users was also taken into consideration. Lastly, factors that had been influential in the consumption of CNS Stimulants among users were also given attention to in the study.
