Summary: Abstract: As pointed out by studies, toilet sanitation remains to be a health problem in the Philippines. It is still considered as one of the sources of different diseases which can affect all of us. In line with the facts aforementioned, baseline information regarding the present condition and sanitation of all comfort rooms in the institute was gathered. This study aims to promote sanitation consciousness among medical students through information dissemination. Posters and instructional materials were used to foster positive attitudes on proper use of toilet facilities. Room to room campaigns were conducted to stimulate interest and participation among medical students. Toilet supplies were provided as a way of assisting the administration for better sanitary conditions. A proposal to continue the program initiated was sent forth to the administration. Before and after the aforementioned activities, a survey was conducted to assess program effectivity. Based on a defined level of consciousness, a scoring system was used in evaluation. Pre-evaluation results about the perception of the medical students regarding utility maintenance, adequacy of supplies, frequency of service and condition of facilities revealed that there are high values for Poor and Fair and a low one for Good. The level of awareness of the subjects showed that approximately 60% of subjects fall under level three. Post-evaluation results showed that there is a marked increase of the values for Good, a considered decrease for both Fair and Poor. Level three values increase up to 85% and beyond of the subjects.
